Club News

A memorable evening celebrating leadership, service, and friendship.

We thanked Brandon Barnhart for his outstanding year as President.  Brandon reviewed all the year accomplishments and thanked all who pitched in especially those who filled in leading meetings so he could coach at McQuaid.

We welcomed Steve Schwock as our 2026–27 President who spoke about his goals for the year to make our membership as strong as ever.  Steve introduced his leadership team for the coming year.

The night also featured a special surprise as Terri Bastuk and Peter Mendick surprised John Mendick with the club’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award.  John is annually one of the leading salespersons for our Pasta Dinner and Reverse Drawdown tickets - our largest fundraisers.  He also rocks a great hairnet at the Pasta Dinners.  Apparently salesmanship is natural for John who, according to Peter, sold very expensive suits to members of the Rochester mafia when he was still a youngster working at Timely Clothes.

Then, Kenn Van Dieren presented Paul Harris + pins to Tom Kosanke, Jim Kozlowski, Dan Dwyer, Ray Holla, Dick Butler and Lynn Wozniak.  Congratulations, John and all PH+ awardees, and thanks to all who help make our club strong!

Another year in the books and looking forward to a tremendous year under President Steve's leadership.

We are incredibly proud to support the Irondequoit Food Cupboard’s Holiday Food Basket Program—now for nearly three decades. This year, Rotarians helped provide 100 bags of food, including ingredients for a holiday meal and staple items to carry families through the school break. And to top it off, we were honored to donate a $500 gift card to Palmer’s.

Community, friendship, and service—this is what Rotary is all about. 💙

The Irondequoit Rotary Club’s 41st Annual Pasta Dinner was a tremendous success! Thanks to the incredible support from our community, volunteers, and sponsors, we raised significant funds that will go directly toward local service projects and community initiatives. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for great food, fellowship, and a shared commitment to making Irondequoit a better place for all.

Halloween Events:  Lynn Wozniak and Ray Holla represented our club at two Halloween events this week:  Trunk or Treat at the the Community Center and at Christ the King Church with Boy Scout pack 233.

Another great 4th of July parade in the books!

Weather was perfect and the crowds were unbelievable.

Special thanks to Lou DiPrima for being our fearless leader once again and for our very own "Uncle Sam" Kenn Van Dieren who was the star of the parade!

June 25, 2025 - Great night at our annual Change-Over Dinner! Dan Dwyer handed things off to Brandon Barnhart, who’s stepping in as our President for 2025–26. Big thanks to Dan and the team of past Presidents who kept us going strong this past year.  One of the best moments — Jim Kozlowski surprised Dick Butler with our club’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Congrats, Dick!
