Meeting Notes
VP Tom Kosanke was notified today that the Strathallan will not be able to host our Installation dinner next week due to restrictions from the Coronavirus.  More to come.  We will look at several options including delaying the event at Strathallan until later in July.  Please see email from Tom that he sent out explaining the whole issue and plans to proceed.

Membership:  Happy to report that we have received a new application for membership from Dr. Aaron Johnson, Superintendent of West Irondequoit School District.  Sponsor is Dave Long.  Aaron was previously a member of Avon Rotary.  We will determine a date for induction probably in mid July.  There is another prospective member from the school district interested.  More on that in the future.

Finances for Rotary year ending next week are very healthy.  Due to restrictions on gatherings, etc., the budget for next year will be bucketed into groupings with monies  allocated approximately to the same causes but line items will vary considerably.  VP Tom will submit a budget for next year within a month or so but lots of work needed to re-do everything from previous years due to Coronavirus.  Luckily we are in a great cash position at this time.

President Bob has identified 5-6 "Kids of the Club" who will receive a letter from him acknowledging their "service above self" and they will be also recognized at the Installation Dinner whenever it occurs.

Lynn Wozniak suggested that we add Seneca school 3rd grade class to our Dictionary Program as it borders Irondequoit.  The committee will look into it.  Plans going forward are in flux pending what the school return policy becomes.

Program Notes
Our Club's High School Scholarship Program selected 3 Students from each High School in Irondequoit to receive a $1300 scholarship for college.  This year's Scholars are:  Gianna Joy-Neuroth (Bishop Kearney). Phoukham "George" Vongkhily (Eastridge), and  Charles Nash (WIHS).

Gianna could not be with us tonight so will attend an upcoming meeting.

George is grateful and feels blessed to accept our scholarship.  He will be attending St. John Fisher in the fall to the delight of several club members.  George plans to become a nurse because of the wonderful care his immigrant mother received from nurses over the years due to several health issues.

Charlie Nash demonstrated "Service Above Self" throughout his life primarily as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout.  He plans to obtain his Eagle Scout this summer by building a fireplace with deck and ramp for disabled at the Heritage Christian Home.  Charlie will attend Clarkson in the fall (also to the delight of several club members).
Contributions/Fines
Many contributed when hearing of Bob Spatola's son Rob faring well so far to chemo treatment.  Prayers all around.  Many also contributed to our Scholars and the great work of outgoing President Bob and well wishes to incoming President Tom and hard working Treasurer Kenn Van Dieren.   Jason Miller ran a virtual drinking game the concluded last week and the proceeds of $250 have been contributed to our Club Foundation!  Thank you Jason!!  Terri Bastuk's Mom had a kitchen fire but no injuries and her sister has the shingles.  Sorry Terri!  Elena DiPrima very happy to have her sister Stephanie home for a visit and a kayak trip.  Andrea Sauer & B.J. Cunningham  are happy to hear one of our scholars will be a Nurse.  Lee Steinfeldt is selling her city rental home and happy to spend some quality time at O'Laughlin's.  Norb Rappl liked Tom Kosanke's virtual background of some young handsome soldier.  Dave Shaheen had a good health check-up and happy to have dinner at Lemoncello's roof deck and church opening up.  Kenn Van Dieren also had good health check and is prepping for elbow surgery next week.  Ray Holla is happy that one of our Scholars is attending St. John Fisher, St. John Fisher, St. John Fisher....
