Bocce Night - Another great night of social gathering and community service. Along with enjoying a delicious steak roast, we packed 200 school pouches for Irondequoit's Back To School Bash that we are donating….and we even played some bocce ball!! Kudos to Lou and Fran DiPrima for leading the effort of many club members who pitched in to help! Lou reports that the event came in under budget due to several folks making donations. See more photos HERE.
Back to School Bash- held last Friday…we handed out over 100 pouches of schools supplies. Thanks to all who helped hand out the pouches!
Pasta Dinner Committee - Dan Dwyer will take over chairman. Thanks for stepping up Dan! Bob Spatola has locked in Nov. 1st as the date with BK administration.
Sunshine Committee - We will make a donation to plant 5 trees in memory of Jason Miller's dad who recently passed away.
District Governor's Visit - the district is looking to create several multi-club events that the DG can attend and make the annual DG Presentation instead of visiting all the clubs separately. President Steve has already suggested they should limit the number of clubs per session and make any costs reasonable. Other suggestions from the floor that Prez Steve will forward to the district: cluster clubs based on the day of their regular meeting; make sure to include a location where the presentation is not hampered by noise and other disturbances if socializing is also a goal.
Polar Plunge & Shire- Joey Pierleoni met the owners of Sessler Wrecking and arranged for them to provide a gift basket that can be raffled at the Polar Plunge. Thanks Joey! He also will follow up with Shire on the garden box project which was delayed.
Interact Club at Irondequoit High School - Lynn is taking over as coordinator for Interact. She will work with the school advisor to recruit 12 members as that is the number needed for being officially chartered. She plans to hace a table at an upcoming school tabling event to improve awareness of Interact with parents. Once 12 members are recruited, she will do the paperwork needed to create the club. Thanks Lynn!
