Meeting Notes
Guest tonight:  Lots including Student Scholarship recipients: Lily Rafferty (WIHS), Alexis Anauo (Eastridge), and Thomas Triassi (BK).

Next week's meeting is at the Rochester Historical Society.  Look for an email from Bob Scheidt for more info.

Drawdown Dinner:  Held last week.  Great success thanks to Dave Shaheen and Lou DiPrima's leadership.  $5000 profit.  Thanks to all big ticket sellers!  Thanks to MC Tom Kosanke and Elena "Vanna White" Barbone.  Jim Kozlowski was the big winner!

District Grant:  Last year grant money was reimbursed from the district so last year is in the books.  This year's proposal was accepted but the amount we will receive is still unknown.

Camp Haccamo Car Show: Our club purchased a $250 ad in the show flyer.  See HERE for more details about the show.

Bishop Kearney Kitchen Project:  We are moving forward with Bishop Kearney Kitchen upgrade project.    The BK Executive Leadership Team is very appreciative and they are moving forward with not only replacement of the Oven & Stove but will potentially upgrade other equipment as well.  Bishop Kearney is handling all the purchasing and execution of the entire project in time for the start of their school year.  This gets everything in working order for our November Pasta Dinner.  Big thanks to the Mendick Foundation for significant funding for this project!  Look for an email from Bob Scheidt for personal donation opportunities.

Program Notes

Carrying on a long-standing tradition, our club presented 3 Irondequoit high school seniors with a scholarship of $1500.

Lily Rafferty, West Irondequoit:  Lily will study Veterinary Technology at Alfred State.  She hopes to be a Veterinarian in the future.  List of accomplishments showing community service is long!  Highlight was working at a Pet Food Pantry.  Also active in Track and Field.

Alexis Anauo, Eastridge:  Alexis will study astrophysics at Cornell.  She was active in track, Marching Band, Class President and spent community service working with children and at the UR Laser Lab.

Thomas Triassi, Bishop Kearney:  Thomas will study Digital Media and Graphic Design at Cortland.  He was a multi-sport athlete and supported community with mentoring and ethical leadership projects.

Congratulations to all our scholarship recipients!  Our future is bright with these student leaders with impressive educational and community service accomplishments.  We hope to hear back from them in the future and hopefully see them become Rotarians!
