Meeting Notes
Hannah Kristensen is an Eastridge student and attended our meeting.  She is applying to become a Rotary exchange student for 2019-20.  She would like to go to Taiwan as she has long-term plans to teach English in Asia.

Kudos to Lee Steinfeldt for creating a Pasta Dinner Poster.  These were handed out to member to post around town.

Kenn Van Dieren passed out Rotary bumper stickers.   He met a principal in the Rochester School District and would like to personally purchase dictionaries to hand out to a few city 3rd grade classes.  All he is asking is for a few members to come and help pass out the dictionaries when they arrives.

Pasta Dinner is coming up fast.  Kudos to both Ray Holla and Bob Spatola who have secured people for clean up help.  Les Kaszuba is asking members to bring gifts that can be raffled off as incentives for the 50/50 raffle at the dinner.  Should be new items still in the box.  Contact Les if you have something to donate.  Rocco Leone has some wine from a recent fundraiser that we can use at the Pasta Dinner to generate income.  Talked about maybe doing a "wine pull" where people donate $20 to pick a cork that corresponds to a bottle.  President Dave and Rocco will come up with a plan for raffling off the wine.

Rocco Leone will be president of Camp Haccamo starting next April.  He is working to increase corporate donations to the camp.  The recent Haccamo Challenge Walk generated $10,000.

Linda Kohl is the District Governor Nominee.  She wants to update the District website to make it more useful and user friendly.  She would like to replace the big notebook that exists now.  Membership will be a big push over the next few years.  Several Districts have been combined due to the loss of membership mostly in the US so District 7120 is transitioning to a new Rotary Zone over the next few years.  Didn't know there were Zones...  There will be a Rotary Leadership training session Novermber 3rd at Pal Mac high School in the morning if interested, please attend.
Program Notes
Bob Scheidt prepared a one page summary of useful Rotary resources:

WEBSITES
www.rotary.org– Rotary International’s primary public homepage.  No password required.  General overview of the entire global organization, including links to audited financial reports including expenses of the senior leaders.    The site includes a “club finder”, that interesting enough if you search for Irondequoit, you won’t find us.   We’ll work on this.

www.my.rotary.org – A members only website that requires a log-on email and password.  This site has a wealth of information, including records of your own history of donation to the foundation.

www.rotaryforms.org – A strange little site that links to a handful of forms related to foundation-related forms, Paul Harris forms and a few others.  This stand-alone site appears to stand on its own.

www.rotary7120.org – A well-organized public site that does not require a log-on.  It includes a good calendar of events.  It has a club directory that accurately reflects our club.   It includes a link to the club runner site that is a members-only site that has a range of resources.

www.irondequoitrotary.org -  With kudos to Jim Kozlowski, this is our home club website that includes a wealth of information about our club as a public site.    When members log-on with a username and password, you have access to private club documents including bylaws, and other club-specific information.

SMART PHONE APPS
Club Runner App – With a logon id and password, this APP has club member directory, club executives, club stories and events, district club listing of where they meet and when.  You need to download this app from your phones particular app store.  It is free to download this app.  Use the app store search bar to search for "Clubrunner" and you should see this app.  The login id and password is the same one you use to get to the members area of www.irondequoitrotary.org.

Club Locator App – Does not need a password, works pretty well to find clubs, meeting locations and times across the country.  Perhaps the easiest tool to find a club when traveling.  You need to download this app from your phones particular app store.  It is free to download this app.  Use the app store search bar to search for "Rotary" and you should see this app to download.
