The stone base at Camp Haccamo for the playhouse project has been installed and looks great. Thanks to President Bob for making arrangements and having this donated to the club. May 14th is the delivery date for the playhouse. The District has extended its cutoff date so that the playhouse is covered for the grant. Student Scholarship program update: 6 applications from Eastridge, 1 student has been selected by West Irondequoit, and still no response from Bishop Kearney. Newest member Dave Long and President Bob are meeting this Friday with an Irondequoit Neighborhood Association to discuss our wish to support those in the community who can afford food but are having problems getting to the store. More to come on this project. We will purchase a Hand Sanitizer drum from Raise a Glass Foundation and donate it to St. Anns. It will be positioned in a public area. Lee Steinfeldt will create a sign to accompany this as a donation from our club. We received a nice letter of thanks from Sue (Rinere) O'Brien for our $1500 donation to Ted O'Brien's fundraiser for communication technology at RRH. Several members have also donated their own monies to this worthwhile cause. Next week's meeting will have a program as scheduled with the Quist family. First program since we have been on Zoom meetings. Louis DiPrima reported that all the 3rd grade books we donated will be delivered by the school to the students. Thanks goes out the Mendick's for paying the lawyer bills associated with gaining our 501(c)3 foundation! Tom Kosanke is meeting with next year's directors to discuss plans on how to move forward (or not) with next year's events due to Coronavirus such as Installation Dinner, Pasta Dinner, 4th of July Parade, etc. He will report recommendation back to the club soon. |
