Meeting Notes
Kudos to John and Peter Mendick for spearheading and funding the creation of the Irondequoit Rotary Foundation!  This foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that will allow our donors to deduct donations from their taxes and make us eligible to receive funding grants from other non-profits.  It also exempts us from sales tax on purchases.  The Foundation Board is led by Tom Kosanke (President), Bob Scheidt (VP), Dave Shaheen (Treasurer), and Ray Holla/Louis DiPrima (Co-Secretary).  The creation of the Foundation will change how our club accounts for donations, etc. and requires a separate bank account from our general club funds.  Lots of discussion on how all this will work but a great step forward for our club!

Next week's meeting is at Camp Eastman for the Irondequoit Police National Night Out.  Please be there at 5pm.

Camp Haccamo is looking for new leaders.  See Rocco Leone or Jason Miller if interested in getting involved more deeply in this great organization.

Program Notes
Kim Miranda is our newest member.  She was born and raised in Rochester.  Her parents divorced when she was young and she stayed with her mom.  Her mother was from Olean, NY so she spent many a summer there.  Her mom unfortunately passed away from breast cancer when Kim was only 18.  This made her more self-reliant and independent.  She started a family early at age 21.  She has 3 daughters aged 25 (former engineer at GE now a STEM teacher in high school), 23 (graduated college in May in Social Work), and 20 (in college for graphic design).  Kim remarried 10 years ago to husband Rob and together have a son Henry.  Kim started working a a Kentucky Fried Chicken and worked her way up to being a manager.  She then went into banking settling at ESL for most of her career going from teller to chat line to consumer lending.  She recently changed careers and is now a Commercial Real Estate agent and enjoys working with smaller businesses just getting started.  Kim enjoys helping people so is really excited to be part of Rotary and welcomes our hospitality!   Welcome Kim!!!
