Besides inducting 4 new members tonight, we are happy to report that two members of the Naples club are transferring to our club: Andrew Beigel and Marianna Beigel. They recently moved into Irondequoit. Andrew is a retired college professor and his wife Marianna is a retired special education teacher. WELCOME! Glad to have District Governor Janet Tenreiro here again tonight to help us induct our new members. The DG reminded us of the upcoming Multi-District World Polio Day on October 29th with guest speaker Rotary International President-Elect Jennifer Jones and other District 7120 EVENTS. DG Janet also told us that applications are open for District Leadership positions such as District Governor to anyone interested. Pasta Dinner update: The oven at Bishop Kearney has been fixed using our donation so we are all set for the kitchen operating smoothly. All tickets have been distributed and money is starting to flow in. Hoping to surpass previous revenues because of increased membership! Camp Haccamo held their Adult Weekend this past weekend and it was very successful. President Lynn played out an interesting Trivia Contest for us tonight on Rotary Trivia - very appropriate with so many new members present. The Foundation Bullet this week was about the Rotary Foundation Endowment Fund. Next week's meeting (October 13) will be at Lucca's (425 Merchants Rd, Rochester, NY 14609). Our October 27th meeting speaker will be Charlsey Bickett of Mary's Place Outreach that supports refugees. Kim Miranda is collecting toiletries to donate to Mary's Place. Please donate the following if able: Shampoo, soap, deodorant, and menstrual pads. |
