President-Elect Tom Kosanke presided over the meeting as President Bob was visiting his friend Mickey in Orlando.  Next week's meeting is our annual St. Patrick's Party at St. Ann's Home (1500 Portland Avenue).  Be there at 6:30 to help set up.  

 

Dave Shaheen is distributing tickets for the upcoming Drawdown Dinner to be held on April 23rd at Ridgemont Country Club.  Please see Dave for tickets.  Tickets purchased before April 8th are included in a $100 Early Bird drawing.

 

 

Clarice Lazary. VP of Programs and Communications for the Society For The Protection and Care of Children (SPCC) informed our club of her organizations mission and programs.  Born and raised in Irondequoit, Clarice brings much energy to her work and is proud to call herself an Irondequoiter!  SPCC in Rochester was founded in 1875 just 5 months after the original SPCC started in New York City as the result of a young girl who was abused in NYC and sent to Rochester.  There was an agency for protection of animals at the time but no child welfare agency, so SPCC was the first in the nation.  Their mission is to provide the best opportunities for a bright future by respectfully partnering with children and their families, advocating for their health, well-being, and safety, and working to heal and strengthen relationships.  Their ultimate goal is to keep families together by working with all involved to solve issues.  All services are provided free to all no matter the level of income for clients.  Funding for SPCC comes from a variety of sources such as Monroe County DSS, Monroe County Youth Bureau, and United Way.  Best way to support would be to volunteer for attend one of their fundraising events such as their annual golf tournament or their upcoming 145th Anniversary Celebration.

Lots of donations for the hope of a quick end to the Coronavirus.  Congrats to Norb Rappl who is celebrating his 53rd anniversary with the club!  Bob Spatola's son had a birthday and Bob and Lori are celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary - Lori enjoyed about 2 of those...  Sorry to hear of Bob Spatola's brother-in-law passing away.  Dick Butler visited his 102 year old uncle. The really successful Kosanke is Tom's brother - a Monsignor in michigan who now runs a Basilica.   Louis DiPrima is proud to report his daughter's first words (sorry but it was NOT da-da).  No truth to the rumor of a certain Rotarian having a destination wedding in Key West...
