Tonight was a Business Meeting. Props to all who participated in Holiday Baskets event this weekend. Thanks especially to Terri Bastuk and Elena Barbone who organized it and Dave Shaheen for providing a venue. The work was done in a socially distant manner with a skeleton crew that was very efficient. Social media response to the pictures posted was beyond anything our club experienced before thanks to several members "sharing" the original Facebook post to their own friends list. Rich Tantalo is looking for volunteers to help with Covid testing. Please see President Tom's separate email on this if you could help. President Tom okayed a $500 donation to Tasteful Connections for their work with Richardson House, a homeless vets charity. Terri Bastuk is working with Tamara Denysenko on a Ukraine Children's program. Due to the war in Ukraine, many children are left without a parent or parents. Terri would like to collect simple email letters from our own Rotary kids to send holiday greetings to these Ukrainian children. See Terri for more information. ROC CITY Uncorked has taken over the Tasteful Connections room to store and catalog wines and other auction items for the online auction coming up the first week of February. Roc City Rotary has joined the club participating. It will be up to the clubs to enlist their members and others to register for the online bidding. Each club will also be responsible to sign up $1000 worth of sponsors for the event and donate items valued at $1000. See Dan Dwyer for details. "Shop With A Cop" participants will meet at 4pm on Tuesday, December 22 at Union Hall (432 Seneca Rd.). Any member interested is encouraged to attend and help deliver presents to children along with an IPD officer. See Louis DiPrima for more details. Pasta Dinner revenues are up over previous years and money is still being collected. Great job to all. New members Andrea Sauer, Jill Orologio, and Elena Barbone are working on a combined "New Member Project" which is still under discussion. More to come. Next week's meeting will be a virtual holiday party! |
