Ribbon Cutting for New Scoreboards
Irondequoit Rotary is proud to donate scoreboards for the new baseball fields near town hall. Saturday, April 28th was the ribbon cutting event for new concession stands and the scoreboards. The scoreboards were donated to commemorate our club's 50th Anniversary.  General Norb Rappl had the honor of raising the flag and lighting the scoreboards for the first time.

District 7120 Changeover Dinner is July 2nd at Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen.  Let VP Dave Shaheen know if you plan to attend.

District Conference is this weekend in Saratoga.  President Bob and VP Dave Shaheen will attend along with Dick Butler.  Thanks to Dick Butler for creating the auction basket for our club to be auctioned off at the District Conference.

VP Dave Shaheen is still looking for venues for our club's upcoming Installation Dinner.  Details to be determined soon.

Lou DiPrima reports there are 14 ticket left to be taken for the Drawdown Dinner.  Let's get creative to sell these so we are not scrambling last minute.  One idea is to ask a group of friends to split the cost of one or several tickets.  That Lou is always thinking...

Thursday, May 10th is Day of Caring at the Heritage Christian home at 58 Allwood.  Be there at 9:30 am.

Program Notes
GUEST SPEAKER:  John Burns, Vice President of Operations of Honor Flight Rochester.

John thanked our club for our years of support for Honor Flight and for teaching him that Merchants Road is in Irondequoit!

Honor Flight provides trips to Washington, DC for veterans free of charge.  The 59th mission of Honor Flight is this Saturday.  Please come to the airport on Sunday at 2pm to welcome the Veterans home.  It is always a magical time for all involved.  Mission 60 is in June and Bob Scheidt and his Dad will be on that trip.  By the end of 2018, all trips will be strictly Vietnam Era veterans.  2800 Rochester area vets have gone on trips and over 200,000 nationwide.  46 states have Honor Flight services.  This week's trip will have the fourth 100 year old vet going on a trip from Rochester.  75% of donations are from "regular folks" as there are only 2-3 corporate sponsors.
