Meeting Notes
Ray Holla updated us on news from Camp Haccamo.  Check out the new website by clicking here:  Camp Haccamo.  Still not sure that summer camp will happen this year due to covid.  If it does, it will be earlier in the summer as the timing opened from another organization.  The new weeks will be July 5 - 9  (Youth Week - Ages 7  to 18 years old) and July 12 -16  (Adult Week - Ages 19 to 30 years old).  Carnival night is the night our club goes out to the camp to participate in the festivities.  Carnival Night will be July 15th if it happens.   The annual fundraiser for Camp Haccamo is a Car/Truck/Cycle Show held June 5th from 8am-12pm at the Mall at Greece Ridge just outside Macy's.  They are looking for more sponsors and Ray encouraged our members with classic autos to join in on the fun.   Contact: Chuck Krause to register your vehicle at 585-730-0918.

Review of ROC CITY UnCorked Auction:
  1. We are over $15,000 in gross proceeds.  A fantastic start!
  2. New items are being added every day so please tell your family and friends to check back often.
  3. In addition to the auction items, there are 2 raffle opportunities.....$10/ticket for some very nice prizes.
  4. Saturday at 7 pm we will have a live Auction Promo event.....refer to the auction WEBSITE for details.
  5. To attend the live promo, you will need to register for $5.   This helps us to know how many will be attending.   And....The $5 enters you into a raffle for a very nice $100+ gift basket
  6. Anyone can view the LIVE AUCTION PROMO but only those buying these $5 Tickets will be eligible to win.
  7. Several new, unique, featured items will be reviewed during the LIVE AUCTION PROMO but these will remain open for bidding until the overall auction closes on Monday, February 8th at 6pm.
  8. The winners for Raffles #51 (My Way Fabulous Gold Award Bovin Vranec) and # 52 (Treboles and Key Premium Vodka) will be announced during the LIVE AUCTION PROMO.  The raffle for these items closes at 6pm on Saturday, Feb. 6th.
For those who have not registered for the Auction......Please register as we have another incentive.....the Club with the highest percentage of registrants will receive a case of wine to use at their discretion.   Our Club has been an exceptional leader for this Auction.  Let's get 100% participation for registration and then win this case of wine!!  We can celebrate with the wine when we are able to meet in person.  Please register by 6 pm on Saturday to be included in the count.  Even if you do not plan to bid, by registering you will be helping our club to win this case of wine.

BJ Cunningham is working with The Legacy at Cranberry Landing to provide cookies and craft items to decorate the cookies as a craft project.  This is in lieu of our annual Valentines Day Party there.

Program Notes
Laurie Holmes is the Director of Sunset House hospice on St. Paul Boulevard in Irondequoit.  Our club has been a supporter for many years and Laurie is appreciative of our support.  The house has been closed since April due to Covid when a volunteer contracted the virus.  All the hospices in the area have closed for the same reason due the number of people staffing and visiting such locations.  During down time, much work has been done to "fix up" and spruce up so it's still been a busy time.  They hope to be back open in May or June.  A big fundraiser is the 5K Race & Walk and that was virtual last year year but still successful.  Probably will be virtual again this year.

The house can hold 2 residents at a time and in normal year serve 30-35 residents.  Biggest need at the moment is for new Volunteers.  You do not need to be a nurse.  Just someone who has patience, is caring and has a good sense of humor.  See their website if interested in volunteering.

After Laurie's presentation, President Tom informed her of our club's intention of again supporting Sunset House with a donation of $1000.

Contributions/Fines
Lots of contributions for:  ROC CITY UnCorked club volunteers, everyone's health, Laurie Holmes and the great work of Sunset House, and B.J. Cunningham's work with the Legacy.  Kenn Van Dieren secured a vaccine appointment in Syracuse.  Lou DiPrima has lost his cast and that's great news for him but even greater news for nurse Fran!
