Meeting Notes
Good to see prospective members here tonight as guests.  Jessica Franco, Patrina Freeman, and Deborah Renna-Hynes met with Tom Kosanke, Dick Butler & President Lynn for a Rotary orientation meeting.  Welcome!

Treasurer Jason Miller reports that Finances are in good shape.  We still do not have a credit or debit card from the new bank yet and there is still no replacement for Venmo online payments.  Working on all that.

The District 7120 Rotary Leadership Institute is October 16th for anyone interested in leadership positions in Rotary.

Membership is booming.  4 new members have applications in and are awaiting induction, another anticipated soon and 2 more transfers from another club have expressed interest.  Great news!

Patrina Freeman reported that the iCare website design is complete and content is being added.   Our District Grant money has gone to support this effort.

Camp Haccamo Playhouse committee headed by Lee Steinfeldt is looking for a weekend to do some internal work at the Playhouse.  Ray Holla will check on some upcoming weekends in late September.  Need help from volunteers with carpentry skills.

Kenn Van Dieren is ready to order Dictionaries for the new school year.

Bob Scheidt recently sent the club an email from the Pasta Planning committee.  Please see it for details.  Tickets coming very soon.  Title sponsor Paris Kirwin has been re-upped again this year!  More new sponsorship packages are available this year.

The Veteran's committee is looking at various use of their allocated funds from our budget.  More to come but they are considering doing more for Afghan refugees in the Rochester area.

Program Notes

Lily Lynch is our newest member.  She set a high bar with her introductory presentation which included photos & videos in her POWERPOINT presentation!  Lily was brought up in the Dryden NY (near Ithaca).  Her parents adopted her from an orphanage in the Ukraine when she was 2 years old so she is 100% Ukrainian.  Her parents still live in Dryden and she has a brother and a sister and many of us have already met her boyfriend Steve.  And don't forget her cat named Jack.  While in high school, she went to Brazil as a Rotary exchange student and had a wonderful experience - hence her interest in Rotary!!  She went onto Nazareth College and studied International Relations with minors in Social Work and Spanish.  After graduation from Nazareth last year, Lily joined Americorp Vista and did much work with local refugees including an impressive video showing the work of Vista in the Rochester area.    Her current job is as a College Career Coordinator with Uncommon Schools Rochester Prep.  It's evident that Lily has been living "Service Above Self" her entire life and we are lucky she has decided to share her time, talents and treasures with our Irondequoit Rotary Club.  WELCOME LILY, we are proud to have you as one of our members!!!

Contributions/Fines
Many contributions for:  Lily Lynch's presentation, all the new members visiting as guests, and the party at Ray Holla's Sodus home.  Jennie Gugino commended General Rappl for his and his sister's work with the annual Mercy Flag for Veterans project that comes up 9/11 weekend.  Dave Shaheen has a new daughter-in-law Natalie who married his son Chris in Cleveland a few weeks ago.  Debby Renna-Hynes is a new grandmother!  Lee Steinfeldt was stung by a wasp while making donations to Greenovation.  B.J. Cunningham had a nice hike around Chimney Bluffs.  Tom Kosanke, Jim Kozlowski, Terri Bastuk and Jason Miller held their own at the Rochester Community Inclusive Rowing (RCIR) 1st Annual Golf Tournament held last week at Brook-Lea Country club.  Tom shared the success story of RCIR's Daniel Villani, who went on to attend Harvard -- see his story published in the Harvard Gazette.
