Meeting Notes

Business Meeting tonight.

Sad to report the passing of Bob Spatola's sister, Gail French.  The club extends our deepest sympathies to Bob and his family.  See obituary HERE.

Pasta Dinner Update (Bob Scheidt):  Date is Nov. 3rd.  Ticket prices will increase to $15.  This year the ticket will include a dessert (probably a few cookies).  Bob Scheidt handed out past year sponsor lists for aid in selling this year.  Tickets are being distributed.  Make checks out to Irondequoit Rotary Foundation as the Foundation will collect all monies, pay expenses, and return profits to the club general fund.  Encourage businesses to buy sponsorships:

  • Silver $150, 11 Tickets
  • Gold $250, 18 Tickets, Lawn Sign
  • Friends of Rotary, $350, 25 tickets, Promo Insert, Website Ad
Bob Scheidt will be displaying his musical and vocal skills at an upcoming event:  Harmony House, Webster Saturday October 5th between 7-10pm (likely closer to 9pm).

Irondequoit Rotary Foundation Board met today and will meet again in December.  The board is starting a review and plans to amend the bylaws to meet current situations.  The main mission and purpose will not change but some detailed administrative points will be refined.

Eastridge HS has a Homecoming Festival Saturday, Sept 28 from 10-1pm at the high school.  We will attend to promote our club.

Financial Report:  Lynn Wozniak presented detailed reports on club finances which are in great shape.  Cash on hand has been put into a higher % CD.  Budget is split into three pieces:  Administrative,  Fundraising, and Pass-Through.  Administrative piece struggles each year to break-even as costs have increased.  Will need a slight dues increase next year to help.  Other ideas to help increase Administrative revenues:   (1) Add an incentive for members to attend meetings (e.g., money back from dues if over 65% attendance)  (2) Obtain "sponsors" for some of our events (3) Use donations from members for Admin expenses if so directed (4) Use interest from CD for admin expenses.   The budget was approved by club vote.   Great job Lynn!

President Greg is looking at our club's participation into District 7120's Peace Pole initiative.  More details to come soon.
