Program Notes
Tom O'Neil (CEO) and Steve Salluzzo (President) of Bishop Kearney (BK) were introduced by Dom Fantauzzo who noted that we have had our successful Pasta Dinner at BK for the last 33 years!  Mr Salluzzo thanked our club for our support over the years and our impact on the community.  The Hockey Program at BK has been very successful.  They started providing residential housing and schooling to Hockey players from 16 US States and 3 foreign countries which has increased the diversity of the campus.  Our club members were welcomed to come and visit BK any day unannounced to see what a great job is done each and every day of the school year.  When questioned about starting Rotary Interact club, Mr. Salluzzo volunteered to be the key contact for such an effort.  We should take him up on that!

Amy Tauch from NY Warrior Alliance told us about her group which started in 2013.  Her brother was wounded in Mogadishu, Somalia and sent to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. to be treated.  The government took care of the health of the soldier but no one provided the basic essentials (clothing, toiletries, coats, etc.) that is needed by the soldier and their family during the time of rehabilitation.  So she started NY Warrior Alliance to take care of that need.  All funding is supported through donations that are received from the community and other non-profit organizations.  100% of donations goes directly to military members and their caregivers.  Some of their events are taking Vets to Nascar Races and there is a Annual Heroes Run on June 9th and the Annual Warrior Concert on August 11th.
