The club voted to approve the following to be Honorary Members of our club: Les Kaszuba, Joyce Soporito, Rich Tantalo, Rosemary Fiore. Congratulations to all for their recognition by the club of their continued contributions to their community. Treasurer Jason Miller reports that the club is financially very healthy especially since the very successful Pasta Dinner. All expenses are within budget. Work continues to import all information into Quickbooks to make the treasurer job more efficient in the future. Strategic Planning Workshop – Tentatively scheduled for January 29, 2022 – still waiting for workshop leaders to confirm. For the foreseeable future, meetings will be held on ZOOM ONLY. Work is underway to identify a new physical location for in-person meetings. Anyone with ideas, please contact Terri Bastuk or Tom Kosanke. Holiday Basket Event - Dec 8th at Camp Eastman. Chairs of this event are Terri Bastuk and Elena Barbone. They are working the details of whether this will be a party as in the past or a smaller work group that can more easily socially distance. Info to follow. Shop With A Cop - lots of discussion. Irondequoit Target is not participating this year. IPD needs $2000 to supply 20 kids with $100 gifts. Our current club budget is to provide $1000 for this event - leaving a gap at the needs. Louis DiPrima is leading this effort for our club and is working with IPD to determine several options on a path forward: need to determine source of additional funding and place(s) to shop. The club voted to provide $200 to supply turkeys for Brothers & Sisters Food Cupboard as we did last year. Dave Shaheen and Kim Miranda purchased and delivered the turkeys following this vote. B.J. Cunningham is heading up the Dictionary project and Senior Events. Pasta Dinner Report: Bob Scheidt will send out a detailed note but the event was a huge success: 20% increase in sales, 26% increase in profits, 23% increase in meals served. Anyone with outstanding money should continue to send this to Lynn Wozniak. Remember it is Foundation Month and Kenn Van Dieren is collecting $100 checks - he will match your contribution with Foundation points. New Business: (1) Leadership Academy - Jeff Freeman is looking into our potential involvement. (2) District Environmental Grant - The club voted to support the District initiative of providing Cook Stoves to needy countries with a $1000 pledge. This money may not be spent until next year. 6 other District 7120 clubs are also donating funds. |
