First regular Zoom meeting of the Kosanke administration is in the books! Lee Steinfeldt will check with the student, but we will plan to do the last Student Scholarship presentation next meeting on July 8th. Membership: Dr. Aaron Johnson, Superintendent at West Irondequoit will be inducted at the July 22nd meeting. Welcome Dr. Aaron! Dave Long is sponsor and Guy Kittelsen will run the ceremony as always. Terri Bastuk has assumed the Secretary position this year! Thanks for stepping up! Prez Tom is still looking for a Membership Chair that Terri will vacate. Please see Tom if interested. After many years as Program Chair, Guy Kittelsen will step down and Kim Miranda will take up the position. Big thanks to Guy for such an outstanding job of securing top notch programs over all the years and congrats to Kim who we know will do a great job! Prez Tom presented his budget proposal for this year. Please see him with any comments/questions. We will vote on it at upcoming business meeting. Many have stepped up to help "has-been" Bob Scheidt with his proposed Backpack Program. Plan is provide 45 back to school packs for students needing assistance. A few volunteers will purchase the school materials and then Bob will have a "packing party" at his house following all social distancing measures. Les Kaszuba is looking into procuring "Irondequoit Rotary" logo masks that will be included in the backpacks so that our club is recognized for the donation. Louis DiPrima is pursuing the request from Irondequoit Police Department for our club to replenish coloring books that IPD uses throughout the year when children attend events. Installation Dinner is being planned for July 29th at Strathallan. More from Prez Tom as plans finalize. Prez Tom is checking with Rochester Community Bikes to see when/if they will start collecting bikes again. More info as he gets it. Our exchange student who is back from her time in Japan will be scheduled for an upcoming program. Has-Been Bob Scheidt will lead the Pasta Dinner planning this year again. Lots of new things to consider at this time. Gigantic kudos to John and Peter Mendick for donating a sizable donation to the Irondequoit Rotary Foundation. The lawyer who did our non-profit status returned an over-payment that John and Peter graciously donated back! |
