Housekeeping –

Drawdown Update- As of the meeting night, we have 17 tickets left for the drawdown. We will Zoom vs. live stream rules will be sent out in advance of the event.  It is important to have proxies.

Camp Haccamo Update - Ray Holla shared the following:

Bylaws have been updated and they will be issued.  They have hired a PR person and he will interface with Causewave, a nonprofit advertising agency for nonprofits.  Camp Haccamo is making a concerted effort to raise money.

There will be a camping season.  The organization is waiting for county and state guidance.  Campers over the age of 16 can’t attend the camp.  Waiting to hear about the kids.  Some positions are now open at the camp.  The camp’s budget has been adjusted to accommodate necessary PPE expenses.    It was suggested that Camp Haccamo look for PPE donations versus buying them as many companies have overstock and might have an interest in donating the items.

Dolly Kujawa is Board Chairperson.  Dan Dwyer is going to be Assistant Treasurer.

The Camp Haccamo Car show is coming up. Lots of volunteer options available. 63 cars registered and $8600 in sponsorship has been raised.  The club agreed to sponsor a $150 sign for the car show.    Any donation opportunities for the Car Show, contact Ray Holla.

Earth Day- Don Alhart did a bright spot.  The district did a video.

ICC Garden - Boy scouts are soliciting donations for the ICC Garden.  The club will consider donating up to $500.  Nik Smith (Boy Scout) will present to the club next week.  No date set yet for working on the garden.

Sunset House- We are confirmed for cleanup - Saturday May 8th 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The lawn has been raked; however, mulch needs to be put down, furniture needs to be brought out and other sprucing around the property. If someone has a wheelbarrow that can be helpful to transport the mulch, Lou DiPrima will bring one so another one can be handy. Bags will be supplied as well as breakfast and lunch. As a birthday wish. Andrea has asked her friends to join us Saturday as well. Please contact Lou DiPrima if you are able to volunteer.

Future wine/beer/spirit tastings -  To support the next wine auction, our club will be volunteering for upcoming auctions.

Program Notes

Kelly Fisher, Executive Director, Girls on the Run was the guest speaker.    Girls on the Run (501(c)(3nonprofit organization) of Greater Rochester is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. Girls on the Run of Greater Rochester was established in 2010 to serve Monroe, Livingston, Ontario and Wayne counties and has had over 5,000 participants over the past six years.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  Girls on the Run wants ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life. Girls on the Run is the only national physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls with compelling evidence of program impact.

Kelly first became involved with the program when she volunteered to be her niece’s coach.  She was so impressed with its mission that she continued to volunteer.

She invites others to visit the website for programs and volunteer activities.  https://www.girlsontherun.org/
