Meeting Notes
Kelsey Holland (Roc City Rotary) told us about her club's upcoming Online Local Art Auction.  The link to the event is HERE.  If people register early (by clicking “Register to bid” on a desktop or “Sign Up” on a mobile device), they will be entered into our first Early Bird Raffle, which will feature 2 tickets to George Eastman House, 2 tickets to Artisan Works and 2 tickets to Memorial Art Gallery. The second early bird registration raffle will start April 18th and will feature local craft beer and distilled liquors, as well as a gift card to Three Heads.

The District Grant application is complete and will be sent in on time thanks to Lynn Wozniak and Terri Bastuk's efforts.  The grant is to support ICARE as discussed last week.  Someone representing ICARE will give us a presentation soon.

Lou DiPrima is working with Sunset House to pick a date where our club members can help do spring cleaning.  It may be Day of Caring (May 13) but Lou will confirm.

Earth Day will be celebrated with a cleanup of waterways on Saturday, April 24th.  This will be the same day as Invigorate Irondequoit.  Our club will support both initiatives by leading a clean-up project at Irondequoit Bay Marine Park.  It will be 9:30-noon with lunch afterwards.

Planning is already underway for ROC City UnCorked Auction #2.  First order of business will be to select the dates of the auction that do not interfere with our ongoing annual events,

President Elect Lynn Wozniak reminds our club members to attend virtual District Training on April 10th and to sign up to attend the virtual District Conference on May 8th 10-noon.

A virtual Reverse Draw fundraiser will be held May 20th.  See Dave Shaheen if you want to reserve your lucky numbers.  We will keep it to 100 tickets again this year.  Tickets should be available next week.

Program Notes
Irondequoit Supervisor Dave Seeley updated us on happenings around the town.  He is stepping down after this term.  Felt it was the right time to move on but loved this job.  He values our work as a civic group and thanks us for our service year after year.  He particularly identified our support for the baseball field scoreboards, our time/talent/energy in many community service projects and helping out last year handing out masks.

The town has done more than many other towns in Covid relief efforts: food/mask distributions continue, 1st to mobilize testing at the Public Works building, and now helping seniors identify vaccines along with LifeSpan.  The Irondequoit Mall Community Center is progressing nicely.  Should be complete in July.  The Fitness Center will have a soft opening in September.  Goal is provide value with a community recreation center and membership will be affordable - not competitive with LA Fitness, just a place to work out.

Seabreeze area development called Irondequoit Bay Marine Park will have new playground, boat/kayak launches and more waterfront areas.  There are plans being made to develop the area behind city hall where the maintenance building once stood.  More on this soon.  We will learn more about ICARE which is a new town initiative that Supervisor Seeley says will improve the town's diversity initiatives.  Money is in the capital budget to improve the facilities at Camp Eastman but nothing firm yet.  The Pinegrove Senior facility will be sold as well as the prior East Irondequoit Library building.  Many members applauded Supervisor Seeley's work and are sorry to see him leave.  Much improvement in the town during his tenure.  Best of luck with whatever the future hold for him!
Contributions/Fines
Multiple contributions for the health of club members and family, Supervisor Seeley's presentation.  Angelina DiPrima is having a birthday (remember it next time, Lou!).  Les Kaszuba is happy to see Prom activity in his store.  Sad to hear that a Polio volunteer was killed by ISIS terrorists.  Andrea Sauer happy that pregnancy is going well.  Congratulations to Bob and Lori Spatola for their 50th wedding anniversary (Lori is up for sainthood).  Norb Rappl and Irondequoit Rotary celebrated 54th club anniversary on March 27 - the date our club was formed in 1967.  Bob Scheidt threw $50 in the kitty for Judene's progress after her surgery.
