Meeting Notes
Happy Birthday wishes to Dom Fantauzzo (a BIG one) and Dick Butler.

President Bob is moving the Board meeting and Business meeting for September to September 11th.

Kudos to all who helped in the "Kenn Van Dieren Day of Caring".  sounds like they had fun tearing down his old fence!

Carnival Night at Camp Haccamo was a hit and enjoyed by all who attended.  President Bob showed attendees the location of the new playhouse we will build.  The District Grant supporting the playhouse has been officially approved.  The Franco family has also indicated an intention to provide financial support for the project.

Bocce' night was very successful thanks to the leadership of Lou DiPrima (this time without Fran who we know really does all the work).

A last minute request for help from Dan Dwyer for Irondequoit Rotarians to pitch in at the Air Show was made and 8 members/spouses showed up.  All had a great time and helped raise funds for the Raise A Glass Foundation.

President Bob spent time reviewing Pasta Dinner information and assigning members to head up committees.  The date was moved to Nov 2/3 before the election and the price will be raised to $10 per ticket.  Bishop Kearney may be able to store our Pasta material onsite.

Thanks to Dom Fantauzzo who raised $600 from our club members for his walk for Angels of Mercy.
Program Notes
Dan Dwyer, our newest member, is a transfer from the Rochester A.M. Rotary Club.  Dan has been a Rotarian since 2008.  Dan was born and raised in Rochester's 10th ward near Dewey & Lexington.  He's from a large family of 3 boys and 3 girls.  Went to Holy Rosary and then Aquinas High School.  Mom is still with us at 86 years old but Dad passed away while Dan was in high school.  This had a profound impact on his life perspective and trajectory.  Learned to "live every day" and to "do the things you like and you never work a day in your life".  Has been doing this to the present day.  He went to Cornell, played football there and studied hotel management.  Met his wife Lisa in 7th grade and married her in college.  One daughter and 2 sons all doing well.  Five grandchildren aged 19 years to 11 months.  He went on to get a masters at University of Buffalo.  He is a third generation restauranteur.  Family owned Marshall Steak House and other restaurants.  He owned Bounty Harbor and others.  His career spanned hotel/restaurant/franchise/financial planning.  Currently is a life coach, trains financial advisors, and advises in the restaurant businesses.  Long list of community service and charity work serving on several boards but with lots of hands-on work as well.   Welcome Dan!  You've already made an impact on our club and look forward to your continued service.
