Meeting Notes
Last week we met at Radio Social for a joint meeting with the ROC City Rotary Club.  We had a great turnout and everyone had a fun time bowling and playing games.   There was talk about doing something again with ROC City, perhaps Curling next time.

Prez Dan reports that B.J. Cunningham had knee surgery on Monday and Bob Spatola is continuing to suffer from back pain.  Prayers go out to both for speedy recovery and relief.

Prez Dan handed out the flyer for an upcoming raffle that will be pulled at the May 23rd Reverse Drawdown Dinner at Ridgemont Country Club.  Time to start selling.  Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20.  Tickets will be handed out next week.   See flyer for details.  There was plenty of discussion about the grand prize of golf at 4 local private golf clubs.  The grand prize winner will be win one round of golf for 3 people at Oak Hill, CCR, and Penfield CC and golf for 4 people at Midvale CC plus 12 bottles of wine.  Oak Hill, CCR, and Penfield requires that a golf course member accompany the 3 people designated to play golf by the winner.  Hope that helps clarify!  If not, see Dan!  It was also decided that the seller (you) should put your name on the back of any ticket submitted so that it is easier to contact the winners.

Dave Shaheen says that 32 tickets are already sold for the Reverse Drawdown dinner.  Lou DiPrima will be collecting money for tickets.  Tickets are $100 and dinner is $55 thank to Dave and Ridgemont working together to keep the price the same as last year.

Lynn Wozniak reports that the District Grant application has been submitted.  It is to support the tutor program at Bishop Kearney.

As has become the tradition started by Kenn Van Dieren, our club will donate $100 in the name of each club member to the Rotary Foundation.

There are several members of our club that have accumulated enough points through their own donations or donations made in their name for Paul Harris or PH+ Awards.   Those members will be contacted to determine how they would like to use these points.   The May 15th meeting is tentatively scheduled to hand out the pins to those awardees.

There will be a Boy Scout Crossover Ceremony at Camp Eastman on Friday May 10th at 6:30.  See Doug Decker for details.

Congrats to Brandon Barnhart on a promotion with M&T Bank.  Brandon will be working at a Fairport/E. Rochester branch.

Program Notes

Neal Gorman is the new President of Camp Haccamo.  Neal has been a member of Penfield Rotary for 3 years. Neal thanked our club for our generous support over the years and truly feels our club is a role model for all Rotary clubs because of our work that he has witnessed.  Thanks also go out to Ray Holla and Debbie Renna-Hynes who serve on the Camp Haccamo Board of Directors.

Neal played a video of the happenings at Camp Haccamo that can be seen by clicking HERE.

Neal has been instrumental in increasing the communications from Camp Haccamo to supporters with emails and social media.  See some HERE.

The annual Camp Haccamo Auto, Truck, & Cycle show is Saturday, June 1st.  It is a fundraiser for the camp.  See more info HERE.  Please support this fundraiser by bringing your antique vehicle or simply attend to see others.

As with many non-profits, Camp Haccamo continues to struggle for funds to continue on a long-term basis.  Work is underway to improve fundraising efforts so that the camp can be sustainable without eating into their foundation moneys.  All types of help are requested in this regard including contributions, serving on the board or helping out in any way possible.

Thanks to Neal Gorman for stepping up to lead Camp Haccamo and for a great presentation!  After the presentation, President Dan presented Neal with a check for $3500 for our club's continuing support for of Camp Haccamo.
