 Our fellow Irondequoit Rotarian, Dave Long, was this week's speaker. Dave serves as a Monroe County Legislator (a part-time role in addition to his full time job at University of Rochester) and shared an overview of county government infrastructure, operations, and his role representing about 25,000 residents in District 16 (the northern and eastern parts of the Town). The presentation and discussion highlighted Monroe County's 2026 operating budget of over $1.5 B which heavily invests in human services, public safety, and health services. Also, Dave talked about the legislative process for turning ideas into local laws as well as some recent local project updates from the Legislature. Is Dave your Legislator?
