Business Meeting tonight. Our club's donation to Gigi's Playhouse was very much appreciated and mentioned by Gigi's on their Facebook page. Valentine's Party last week was very successful thanks to the leadership of B.J. Cunningham, Master of Ceremony Les Kaszuba, and music by President Bob, Jason Miller, and Dave Shaheen. Thanks to all who participated. Notes from the Board Meeting: (1) no finance report due to treasurer travel, (2) President Bob outlined the club's work to obtain a Rotary International Citation (the good kind). We are doing most of it already and just need a few tweaks to be eligible. (3) Haccamo Playhouse bid has been selected and should be well under budget. Extra money can be used for making additions and improving landscape. It will be a 10x20' house with porch and swing set. It comes pre-fab, fully assembled after crushed stone is in place. President Bob arranging for crushed stone. Our sweat equity will be painting and landscaping. Install date is still TBD but in May. Another committee has been formed to determine the purchase and placement of a flagpole to honor Pat Torre in front of the playhouse. Peter Mendick, Terri Bastuk and Linda Szefc are on the flagpole committee. Membership is moving in the right direction. Jill Orologio has recently joined and will be inducted when the Prince of Pasta returns from the sunshine state. Submitted for membership: Dave Long, Health Care Executive Administration by sponsor Lee Steinfeldt. See Tom Kosanke or President Bob is you have an idea for the District Simplified Grant. Need to have a proposal within 2 weeks. Draw Down event is April 23rd at Ridgemont Country Club. Tickets will be available soon. See Dave Shaheen. This year's Install Dinner on June 24th will be held at the Century Club per VP Tom Kosanke. Lee Steinfeldt invites all to attend a Gala for Eastridge on April 4th. See Lee for tickets ($45). Benefit is to cover non-budget expenses and scholarships at Eastridge. Eastridge Garage Sale is March 21st. See Lynn Wozniak if you want to donate anything. Proceeds go to club general fund. April 4th is the District Assembly Training for next year's Officers. |
