Meeting Notes

First meeting of the President Greg Blair administration.

Welcome guest Dolly Kujawa, Director of Camp Haccamo.

Ray Holla updated happenings at Camp Haccamo:  Youth week is July 29 - Aug 2.  Carnival night is Thursday, Aug 1st and we will hold our weekly meeting there.  Carnival starts at 6pm.  The club is sponsoring a bounce house once again.  On Aug 3 at 3pm, there will be a memorial service for Don Milton at the camp.  All are encouraged to attend.

The 4th of July Parade was a great success.  The crowds were thick, much candy was handed out, there was a great turnout among members to walk the parade, and Uncle Sam (Kenn Van Dieren) was a BIG HIT!

Bob Scheidt proposed a potential sponsorship of town events at town hall.  There are music events scheduled on Thursday evenings.  He will look into possibilities, costs, etc. and report back at a later meeting.   Consensus was that it would be a good venue to get club visibility into the community.

National Night out will be Wednesday, August 7th.  More details will come soon.  We usually set up a table at the town hall and hand out literature and balloons.

President Greg would like members to reach him by texting him at 585-507-5373.  It is the best way to reach him for any club communications needed.

President Greg is looking for a Program Chair.  Please see him if interested in taking on this important club role.

Dictionary Project will be managed by Ray Holla/Kenn Van Dieren this year.  More information as they learn the number of books needed for next school year.

Issac Elliott will update the club about his plans for his New Member Service Project at next week's meeting.  There is a new homeless shelter being built by his organization and the tentative plans are to do something to support that project.

Program Notes
Bob Scheidt showed pictures and video and told stories from his recent trip to the Grand Canyon.  It was his and Judene's 40th Wedding Anniversary trip.  They rode prop planes and helicopters to reach a desolate area of the Grand Canyon and then white water rafted, camped along the river and rode horses.  Had to be careful of snakes and scorpions.  Also stayed in Las Vegas and gold mining town in California.
