Another "Official" Installation Dinner is in the books in grand "socially distant" style held at the beautiful Strathallan Hotel overlooking the Rochester skyline. The Presidents gavel was passed from Past President (aka "Has Been") Bob Scheidt to new President Tom Kosanke. This was Bob Scheidt's second round at being our club president. Bob reflected on his first term as president in the last century where former member Dick Weaver told him that the club was doing great so..."don't change ANYTHING". He didn't and everything went well. This past year was the exact opposite as many things such as the Coronavirus required that we change just about everything! And once again, with Bob's leadership, the club stood up and embraced change and had a fantastic year by doing many projects in completely different ways. Incoming President Tom talked about the Rotary theme this year, "Rotary Opens Opportunities". He identified individually how each and every member (and spouses) continually opens up opportunities for the people they serve throughout their lives and the impact it has on those recipients. President Tom looks forward to leading our club with another great year of opening opportunities to the people of Irondequoit and around the world. The club's annual Paul Harris Award was given this year to Bob Spatola. Major General Norb Rappl, once again, presented the award in his unique style. Bob has served in many leadership positions in the club including President and has been instrumental in many club projects such as the Pasta Dinner. In addition, Bob has donated his time, talents, and treasure to the community over many years. Congratulations, Bob, for a well deserved honor! |
