Meeting Notes
Great to see Jeri Reidy joining us for dinner tonight.  Guests:  John Zink (Greece Rotary), Julie Zink & Phil Sennett from Roc City Rotary - tonight's program.

Kim Miranda entertained some fellow Rotarians who were able to visit her home during the Rochester Marathon.  Sounded like a good time that will hopefully grow over time.

Several members went to the Eastern City Dinner this week and had an "interesting" response to the future RI President speech.  Culture differences are always fun to experience!

Pasta Dinner tickets were distributed.  See Dave Shaheen if you have not received them yet.  Shorter than normal time frame for sales so we need everyones best efforts.

Irondequoit Fall Festival is this Saturday.  See Terri Bastuk if you plan to volunteer.

Josie Waverly tickets are available for the event on October 26.  See Kenn Van Dieren if interested in attending.  Ray Holla is putting a raffle basket together for this.  See Ray if you have anything to contribute.

President Bob is looking for ideas for creating a Pat Torre memorial with the money collected at the time of his passing.  See Bob with ideas.  Jeri Reidy indicated that a focus on children would be very appropriate.
Program Notes
Phill Sennett and Julie Zink from Roc City Rotary told us about this relatively new "young professional" Rotary club.  The club started 3 years ago with 17 members and now has 26 members.  They were thankful for our club support for their projects and especially were thankful to Kenn Van Dieren and Jason Miller who attended several of their meetings.  They believe they are "the next generation of Rotary".  They meet once per month as a full club but meet weekly in sub-committees and other groups of leadership.  Club meetings are like mixers focused on bringing in new members but also getting work done.  Currently, meetings are at 3 Head Brewery.  Much of their effort is on working with other clubs in the area to provide support and service.  The club mission is to "Connect, Energize, and Transform."  Focus for this year is Literacy - to help increase the graduation rate in city schools.  Planning underway for "service and sustainability" includes building annual events such as our Pasta Dinner.  They have started a Masquerade Ball on November 1st in this effort as a fundraiser.  Very active on social media -especially Instagram with tag #RocCityRotary.  Partnerships with other charities are a large part of their effort:  Ronald MacDonald House, Open Door Mission, Foodlink, and Rochester Academy of Medicine.  The club is having an open house on October 15th and would love to have us attend.  Great to see such energy from young people in Rotary...
