Finance Report:
Bank accounts are in good shape. Some members still need to pay their membership dues and for the Bocce Steak night. BOD voted to donate the unspent money from the Club’s Changeover Dinner to the band that played at the dinner ($250 ) + $50 of club’s administrative discretionary fund. The check was presented to Bethel Express’s representative Mike Peace at the BBQ at Dan’s house on Aug 24, 2022. Board voted to donate $350 to the Parkside Neighborhood group for their little library project. This was the amount the group asked for when making their presentation to us in July. It represents about half of their total cost for purchasing, assembling and installing the library.
Playhouse: Jeff Rosenberg from Irondequoit Landscaping will be donating his materials and time to create graded ramped surfaces to the doors of on the playhouse so the playhouse is wheelchair accessible. It was noted that the playhouse needs a new flag. Also, it was suggested that we install a keybox or a combination lock to make the playhouse more easily accessible by staff. Currently, the camp caretaker has the only a key on site.
Dictionaries should be on their way to be delivered to Lou DiPrima’s house.
Strategic Planning: Chair Lynn Wozniak will be convening a meeting of the members who have expressed interest in undertaking a needs survey/canvassing of schools, non-profit organizations and other community groups in Irondequoit to find out needs and wish lists to help identify one or more signature projects for the club.
Pasta Dinner – Nov 6th .: Tickets distributed to members at the meeting. The rest will be distributed to as many members as possible over the weekend. Extra and undistributed tickets can be picked up at Tuxedo Corner’s store during business hours. Cost of individual tickets is $10. Any one donating or buying tickets for $100-$240 is a sponsor. $250 or more is a Friend of Rotary. All sponsors and friends of rotary will be listed on our website and included in the handout to be given out at Pasta Dinner. Committee also asks that NO ONE purchase or promise anything for the Pasta Dinner without clearing it
with the committee first. Thank you.
Raise A Glass Foundation (RAGF): Wine and Spirits auction will be the first week of February. Committee is in negotiations for use of a building on Colver. Jason has volunteered to be the inventory manager. Committee is revisiting basket composition and pricing. Feedback from auction winners is that most of the wine was not that great. It will need a different approach and sales pitch this year.
Membership: Two new member prospects: both friends of Lily Lynch. Deb Renna-Hynes has resigned from the club. New job and other personal reasons.
Boy Scouts: Doug is going to be setting up a meeting with the scouts and club leadership to discuss potential ideas for joint service projects. One possibility is to explore with the Town is for Rotary to adopt route 590 north of Ridge road and do litter pick ups and round-about beautification projects a couple times of the year with the scouts and Interact Club.
Interact Club: We will have an information table at the Parent Open House at Irondequoit High on Thursday, Sept 22, 2022 and the next day we Sept 23, 2022, there will also be an information table with give away items outside the high school cafeteria during all the lunch periods The first meeting of the Interact Club will be Wed, Oct. 5, 2022. Anybody who wants to help man the tables during the parent’s meeting or during the lunch hours, please contact Kim.
