Need "muscles" around 10am at Bishop Kearney to help heat up all the hot cocoa which will then be delivered to the town hall. Need volunteers to help serve the cocoa in the Winterfest tent - be there around 10:30 as the festival starts at 11am. Expect to serve 1200 cups of hot cocoa. Strategic Plan/ Capital Project: Strategic planning group met recently and has compiled a list of action items to determine community needs by talking with community leaders. Club members also identified some possibilities: walking trail at Durand Eastman Park, bike trails, Ukraine assistance, help for homeless... Big ideas are welcome! Hope is to identify a project very soon. Polar Plunge: Bring $ next week to support President Kim & Lily Lynch! District Grant: our project for this year's District Grant is to provide cellphones, computers, and training to Afghan refugees (Keeping Our Promise organization). Project is underway and needs to complete by May to have all expenses in this Rotary year. Thanks to Tom Kosanke for managing this project. Treasurer's Report: Finances are in very good shape. Treasurer Jason Miller has developed a very professional accounting system. Discussion around moving more money to the Capital Project will be reviewed at next Board meeting. Committees should get to Jason any changes for budget money required before end of June. Lots of discussion regarding the transparency needed on Pasta Dinner money sitting in Irondequoit Rotary Foundation. The Foundation board has sole responsibility to the use of this money which must follow the Foundation charter. |
