We received a nice letter from William WIllams, the UK Rotarian who visited our club 2 weeks ago.  Home safe and sound.  Enjoyed meeting everyone.

The Club voted to approve that the current  Directors at Large will serve another one year term.  Current Directors at Large are: Don Fantauzzo, Guy Kittelsen, BJ Cunningham, Rich Tantalo, and Jerry Marzano.

We have 3 invitations out and 1 confirmation for New Members meeting at Dick Butler's House on Monday (9/18).

Haccamo Update (Ray Holla) - over 200 campers this year,  Very successful season.  Foundation has $1.7M.  Mendick Foundation is a very generous sponsor.  Use Amazon Smile and choose Haccamo as the benificiary when you buy anything on Amazon.  Haccamo receives 0.1% of the price of the goods you purchased from Amazon.  Three ways to contribute to Haccamo Challenge Walk: (1) Walk and get people to sponsor you.  (2) Donate personally or through club. (3) Buy a sponsorship.
Program Notes
Kathy Costello attended Bishop Kearney and is a life-long Irondequoit resident.  In 1998, she started Christopher's Challenge after her son, Christopher suffered from leukemia and was in need of a bone marrow transplant.  Christopher's Challenge goal is to increase the number of people in the unrelated Bone Marrow Donor Registry.  They do this by paying for the typing of samples for individuals willing to become potential donors.  Christopher is now a healthy young adult free of leukemia due to the transplant he received in 1998.  So far, the non-profit is responsible for over 5600 people being typed at a cost of $47,000.  Typing is easy according to Tony Proietti who has been typed.  Previously typing was limited to those under 44 but now is available for anyone under 60.  See www.christopherschallenge.org for more information.
